Toxic substances – Caution is required, especially for schools and pre-schools
KEMMLIT is on the safe side – this has been confirmed by TÜV!
Polycyclical Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH) in synthetic materials are suspected of damaging the genetic makeup and increasing the risk of cancer. Regular yet brief skin contact is enough. In spite of this manufacturers continue to use materials with high PAH levels in products such as tools, toys, packaging and shoes. In many cases the PAH content far exceeds the recommended levels.
Consumers and users themselves have few possibilities, to ensure they do not purchase products with an overbearing of PAH. When possible, you should look out for TÜV-certified products, with the GS emblem which stands for Geprüfte Sicherheit (certified safety), because if the concentration of PAH is too high, this seal of approval will not be granted
In public sanitary rooms, door handles, door knobs and door lipping made of synthetic materials are a source of risk for the user of the toilet cubicle. This applies especially to schools and pre-schools. Planners, architects, mechanics and decision-makers can only really ensure that the recommended PAH limits have not been exceeded by the TÜV/GS seal of approval.
All BASIC- and BAMBINO cubicle systems from KEMMLIT are TÜV-certified and GS-tested. In the course of the TÜV/GS tests, the relevant synthetic materials were checked for possible a overbearing of PAH and were found to be harmless.
To protect children and youth, such evidence should be provided by the supplier without fail. With the TÜV/GS emblem and thereby with KEMMLIT products, the decision-maker is on the safe side!
