The Restroom Partition System cell, developed with the architects Leibinger and Barkow, combines experimental metalworking with modern design. It comprises four variants: classiccell (smooth), hardcell (folded), softcell (rounded) and variocell (can be flexibly combined).
Various metal surfaces enable individual design. All cell partition walls are flame-retardant (class B-s2,d0) and therefore ideal for public buildings.
The system offers a 7-year guarantee and has received Red Dot Awards, the iF Gold Award and a nomination for the German Design Award.
Why the product line is so convincing
Spectacular design
For architects Regine Leibinger and Frank Barkow, the appeal of working with KEMMLIT lay in experimenting with materials and creating spatial quality – including in sanitary areas. These approaches shaped the cell system: creative shapes and metalworking were intended to break up smooth interior surfaces and create new spatial effects. The Barkow Leibinger office, founded in Berlin in 1993, works internationally and often uses prototypical details.
More privacy thanks to room-high closed variants
With the room-high closed solution, doors, fronts and partitions are built right up to the ceiling and offer maximum privacy. Shadow gaps or U-rails ensure a precise connection. The 42 mm thick partition walls with special inserts also improve sound reduction. The doors are constructed close to the floor and classiccell is also ideal for brick partitions.
Fireproof
The cell partition wall system with all its variations is classified as B-s2,d0 and is a “flame-retardant” building material.cell consists of a metal construction that is flame-retardant and emits very little heat even in the event of a fire. cell is therefore ideally suited for public facilities with increased fire protection regulations, such as airports.

Sturdy and scratch-resistant
The Heavy Duty Edition is the robust upgrade of the cell partitions. A resistant surface made of aluminum, steel or stainless steel is reliably protected from dents and dings by a specially developed insert. As a result, the high-quality appearance is permanently retained even with intensive use.
Maintenance-free and durable base and belt construction
For maximum stability, KEMMLIT uses robust aluminium or stainless steel feet, either on the front or space-optimized in the partition wall. Colored nylon rosettes are possible with variocell. The door hinges are extremely durable, maintenance-free, cannot be unhinged and have six screws; if desired, they can close automatically with an integrated spring.

The cell partition wall system has been tested in accordance with DIN EN 13501-1 and assigned to class B-s2,d0 – it is therefore flame-retardant and shows no flash-over or burning droplets. The metal construction gives off very little heat in the event of fire and meets high safety requirements, ideal for public buildings such as airports.

cell offers accessories such as hooks and toilet paper holders made of stainless steel, aluminum or plastic – stable, functional and vandal-proof.
